Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction

Please follow the instructions below to save energy and carbon consumption:

  1. Please intensify the promotion of water and electricity conservation.
  2. In office spaces, set the air conditioning temperature between 26 and 28°C. Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of air conditioning equipment and establish a maintenance record to maintain operational efficiency. Repair insulation layers of refrigerant pipes for outdoor air conditioning units if damaged. Periodically clean dirty filters to increase the cooling efficiency of air conditioning, reduce energy consumption, and extend the lifespan of the air conditioning system. If inadequate maintenance is observed during inspections, penalties will be imposed according to the "Air Conditioning Equipment Energy Management Plan."
  3. Implement stricter energy management and time control for office appliances.
  4. For equipment requiring 24-hour operation, consider incorporating rest periods to avoid continuous operation or utilize backup equipment for alternating operation to ensure safety.
  5. Water conservation measures include reducing the flow rate of faucet water for handwashing, installing water-saving devices, and promptly repairing any water leaks in water fixtures.
  6. Prioritize the use of water and energy-saving devices or products with energy-efficient and eco-friendly labels when replacing or updating equipment.
  7. Each unit should designate a specific area of responsibility and appoint at least one energy conservation manager (the list of personnel should be provided to the Environmental and Safety Center for reference) to ensure the implementation of management systems.
  8. Use timers to control the on-time of appliances to avoid unnecessary energy waste.
  9. To promote energy conservation initiatives within each unit, you can draft a proposal and seek appropriate subsidies from the university. For information on related subsidy measures and schemes, please contact ESH Center.

The implementation of various campus energy-saving and carbon reduction measures and management, reviewed through the university's Energy Conservation Team meetings.
